The Future of Brexit

Brexit has failed. That much is clear. Yet exiting Brexit will be a long and tortuous process. Jail Johnson 

In collaboration with Prof Joshua Silver, we have a project to, at the very least, prosecute Johnson for lying to Parliament and thus breaking the Ministerial code.  The alluring sexed up title of Jail Johnson refers to the real goal of taking Johnson to court for killing 179 000 people unnecessarily for pursuing his herd immunity strategy.  We need thousands of signatures to support this action initially.  Please find out more at Jail Johnson and send this paragraph to friends with a link to the petition Uphold The Rule of Law.

By the way, the objective of Jailing Johnson is itself not the only goal we have.  Amidst some of the items in the ‘backroom’ that are perhaps less interesting to the public is Putin’s donation of £8 million to Aaron Banks which, if exposed, could lead to the destruction of the Conservative Party and to some reconsideration of our relationship with the EU.  There is also the case of the £1 billion bribe with the DUP, which again has serious ramifications.

Europe Day – May 7th

In collaboration with Alice Boulliez et al. we have drafted a press release for use with UK media to highlight an upcoming legal case.  See Orphaned by Brexit if you can help Alice in reaching mainstream media in the UK.

Brexit Doesn’t Pay – Removing the Brexit culture carriers 

In collaboration with the wonderful Adrian Ekins-Daukes, we plan to build a database of MPs who are (a) vulnerable and (b) who are ‘Brexophiles’.  Once we have that, there is a much longer job of finding leaders in their constituencies to help remove their majority at the earliest opportunity, working systematically as of now to leaven their chances of winning a GE.  The message must clearly be that ‘Brexit Doesn’t Pay’.  We need a data and an excel people to build the database and people who can reach the leaders in the areas to build teams to deliver our strategy.  It is a considerable amount of work.  We may also eventually link up to Andy Watkin’s fine work to help people target their efforts within specific wards for maximum impact.  If you can support the ‘Brexit Doesn’t Pay’ project financially, please go to GoFundMe.

Please note – This project is quite different to Lord Andrew Adonis’ barmy attempt by the European Movement to target 44 Tory MPs and, in doing so, to kill our support with the quieter rump of Conservative MPs who wish to rejoin the EU.  This was quite wrong-headed and, working together with the MODEM group, we managed to push back Adonis’ daft idea, although this was after much of the damage had been done, after The Conservative European Forum left The European Movement because of him.

Next meeting – Monday March 7th

I have not been overwhelmed with offers of support from people wishing us to build a bigger Re-Boot Britain organisation !! ☹  I’ve had four offers of Gold sponsorship for which I am extremely grateful. I have presently declined them as (a) it does not get us to the target and, more importantly (b) it is simply wrong to rely on a few people with deep pockets.  We really need 4 – 800 x much smaller amounts.  Here is the link to the video presentation.  Do let me know how you are doing at engaging others.  I’ve had much more beneficial offers to return to corporate life and I’m beginning to think that this may be my best option to thrive rather than merely surviving by doing this full-time.  We will review progress on March 7th at 8 pm on ZOOM.  I am left wondering if we really don’t believe that Brexit can be reversed or whether continuing effort is actually worth it tbh and am not someone who believes it’s worth it if we cannot get the needed collaborations. The future of Brexit is bleak if we make it so but I recognise that people are at a low ebb.

Orphaned by Brexit

Alice Boulliez decided that she would not be orphaned by Brexit after Boris Johnson made her and millions of others “Citizens of Nowhere”.  A 62 year old British housewife and farmer, living in France with two children has turned into a Brexit Avenger alongside Claire Godfrey Le Monnier, Grazia Valentino Boschi and a group of other citizens who call themselves EuBritizens.  Unable to vote in the Brexit referendum and are now united in outrage by the careless approach of the Brexit Government in looking after their rights.  If they succeed in their legal actions, they may help millions of others to gain their voting rights back, freedom of movement and other civil liberties that people enjoyed before Brexit.

“To be disenfranchised is a horrible feeling, like a motherless child. Your orphan voice does not matter. The suffragettes were not fighting for something they had lost, nor something that they had had previously; they were fighting for new rights. I am fighting to regain my right to be counted as a sentient human being.”

Alice wrote to Lord Heseltine, The Queen and lobbied people in Brussels.  Eventually, she found Julien Fouchet, who was looking to take a case to the French courts.  The case was heard in the Court of Justice before Judge Romanello.  He, in turn, sent it through to the ECJ in November 2020, having collected over 500 replies from people in similar situations.  The case has since reached the UK Select Committee on the effects of Brexit.

If our actions succeed, we hope to confirm our status as European citizens with full rights.  We also hope for both freedom of movement and municipal and European electoral rights as a corresponding status to Settled Status in the UK.

Many other lives and livelihoods rest on the success of this case.  What are we to say to Mrs Page who had planned to live out her retirement in a lovely house in the French countryside surrounded by her animals, whose income was severely affected by Brexit and who is now in a sad retirement home near London?  To Mr Duke whose Carte Vitale is still not available to him and has to pay out of his pocket for health care?  To Mike Johnson whose girls who have always lived in France and who now has difficulty getting them a Carte de Sejour?  Or to the twins who went for French nationality, one got it, one didn’t?

We refuse to be orphaned by Brexit and Boris Johnson.

Professor Joshua Silver and Peter Cook don’t just want to see Boris Johnson step down as Prime Minister.  They plan to prosecutive him for his “crimes of passion”.  In other words, crimes Johnson committed from his “crocodile brain / limbic system / shopping trolley” rather than from any form of intelligent analysis and Churchillian decision-making that would befit a head of state. We want to see him prosecuted and jailed for his crimes. Click here to help.

Joshua and Peter’s proposal stems from several concerns they share, to name a few:

  • The industrial scale lies Boris Johnson told in Parliament and to The Queen.
  • The illegal activities of Mr Johnson, for example, via the prorogation of Parliament and the breaking of international law by the likely forthcoming Article 16 legislation which will threaten peace in Northern Ireland.
  • The hate crimes Johnson has committed, for example the Jimmy Savile affair which has spilled over into thoughtless behaviour on the streets of London.  As mentioned in Parliament on 09 Feb 2022, Johnson’s “careless whispers” contributed to the deaths of Jo Cox and David Amiss.
  • The crimes Johnson has committed against the people, through unprecedented Brexit lies which will ruin future generation’s lives and livelihoods.  This, in the wake of the recent revelation that the only Brexit benefits are in “Great British Queues”.
  • Mr Johnson’s wilful approach to herd immunity, which has cost the lives of 179 000 people unnecessarily, when there were other political choices open to the Cabinet, rather than using care homes as COVID mortuaries.

A Letter

Write a letter to your MP. Here is one prepared by Adrian Ekins-Daukes recently to help you compose yours. Find your MPs e-mail at Write to Them.

Dear Sir / Madam,

 

We would like to add our names to those of your constituents who have written to you asking that you write to the Chairman of the 22 Committee about the illegal parties held at No 10 during lockdown and the future of the Prime Minister.

These  illegal  parties were a criminal offence, for which heavy fines were imposed on ordinary miscreants. It was  scandalously offensive  that such an event should have taken place on the eve of Prince Phillip’s funeral service . We do not need a report from a civil servant to conclude that Johnson was aware of these activities, and may well have attended them.  No 10 as a whole has set a disgraceful example. Those of Johnson’s  supporters arguing for a second chance for him need reminding that Health Secretary Hancock had to resign at once for kissing his mistress on office premises, a much less visible breach of rules.

In Johnson’s defence, his supporters point to his record, notably the excellent vaccine roll-out in early 2021. Against that, due to his mismanagement of the pandemic in other respects, our death toll from the pandemic  was amongst the highest in the world and has remained higher than in other comparable European countries. He also bears responsibility for No 10’s corrupt practices, notably in PPE procurement, the likes of which we have not been seen for over 150 years. More widely, he seems to have no clear ideas for economic recovery, whilst Internationally  Britain’s influence is barely noticeable.  Johnson’s  reputation for untrustworthiness seems beyond redemption.

With such a record,  Johnson has nothing more to offer this country. With this latest scandal, his removal from office is not only  fully justified but essential .

Breadline Britain

By 2031, the impact of The Brexit Hunger Games had been fully felt through civil unrest, the fragmentation of traditional politics and the formation of The People’s Progress Party (PPP), formed from the fragments of Labour, Lib Dems, the influence of powerful individuals such as Gina Miller, a merger with The Green Party and Memoranda of Friendship with the independent Governments of Scotland, Ireland, Wales and The European Union. Although The PPP could not stop the damage done by Brexit, Brexit carnage had eventually unified the people against the remnants of the Conservative Party, allowing a return of some of the more moderate conservatives to public life.  This took place after an attempted takeover by Jacob Rees Mogg and following the worst riots ever seen on the streets of Britain in 2022, after the impact of Brexit on food supplies, gas and electricity supplies, the three-day week, drinking water safety issues and availabilities of goods and services previously taken for granted.  One of the earliest acts of the PPP was to prosecute various culture carriers of Brexit, assisted by The Good Law Project.  In 2026 a group of these people were jailed for various offences, including Boris Johnson, Mark Francois, Nigel Farage, Lord Bethel, Daniel Hannan and Priti Patel.

The PPP was formed in 2023 in a complete volte face of traditional politics.  People were selected for office, based on rigorous selection methods and then elected by people’s assemblies.  Whilst the party had some politicians drawn from the best of the crop, it was formed from people from business, the arts, community leaders, public figures and so on.  This was informed by the insight that some celebrities and sportspeople were more skilled and popular than Westminster politicians.  However, this was no populist uprising.  The PPP insisted on informed democracy, fought the election in 2024 on some old-fashioned ideas about truth, fairness, trust, reforming politics and healing the country.  They won a majority of votes but lost the election to the Conservatives due to the existing First Past The Post (FPTP) system, which Labour had failed to confront and which eventually led to the breakup of the Labour party.  The PPP’s meteoric rise was based on some very good campaigning, based on an ‘Enough is Enough’ message and a promise to make a Better Britain in a Better Europe through Better Politics.  This included plans for electoral reform.  It had become clear that the European Union felt they were better off without Britain at the table and, although they had left the door open to rejoining the EU, it would come with some important pre-conditions.  The most important one was for a complete removal of the Brexit ultras from power, to avoid a ‘Hokey Cokey Brexit’ i.e. an in / out / shake it all about approach to EU membership.  Other items such as Schengen and Euro membership were negotiable depending on whether they felt that our standards of democracy were acceptable and the degree to which English exceptionalism and cakeism had been removed from the political culture.  Some former Brexiteers hid in the shadows rather like people did from 1975 until 2016.

FACT : Games were played at the parties that did not happen. Including Bojopoly, COVID Cluedo and Levelling up – a game of false promises and cronyism.

FICTION : Jimmy Savile did not DJ the Abba party at No 10 due to being dead. More importantly and in spite of Johnson’s accusations in Parliament, Keir Starmer did not acquit Jimmy Savile. That was a lie by Johnson. Even Daily Mail readers have branded Johnson a “pound shop Trump” for his remarks about Keir Starmer.

FACT : We do not need Sue Gray or The Metropolitan Police to tell us if Johnson broke the rules. He has admitted it. He broke the ministerial code by compulsive lying. He will probably have to go even though that probably means he ducks responsibility for Brexit. Johnson escapes every time. The reason that Johnson is still there is that the ERG cannot agree on a successor.

FACT : Changing the leader does not change the underlying problem. The problem is Brexit which continues to consume livelihoods across the UK.

FACT : Just some of the recent Brexit effects include : Meltdown of the administration in Northern Ireland due to the deal which Boris Johnson and the DUP signed; The Telegraph has reported on Boris’ Brexit Betrayal; UK Science loses its position of influence in Europe; Nestle has closed its sweet factory in Newcastle; Brexit continues to cause unprecedented queues at Dover. These are likely to be extended when Brexit is fully done in July and Britain is done for.

FACT : Johnson needs more dead cats to distract people from Brexit Carnage and Partygate. War in Ukraine. A return of the troubles in Northern Ireland. Photo opportunities on buses? Who knows what levels Johnson will sink to, in order to distract from his bankrupt leadership?

FACT : Hula Hoop shortages are here.

FACT : Rishi Sunak’s proposed package of support for energy price hikes are full of hot air. Energy price rises. France – 4% UK – 54% Guess which people ‘took back control’? Remember Johnson said that Brexit would mean cheaper energy and Mogg said it would mean cheaper training shoes. With thanks from @oncewasloved on Twitter.

FACT : Although The Conservatives won the by-election in Southend, turnout was at an all time low with more than 1000 spoilt ballot papers, in spite of this being a test of support for David Amiss. With just 24% turnout (down 43.4%) and no other parties standing this is a Britastrophe. The Johnson effect continues its rampage through Brexit Britain. A veteran activist said that the Conservatives had been “met with a wall of disapproval such that they have never had before in 25 years of doing this.”

Downing street are vigorously denying that “Operation Back Big Dog” is in operation to rebuild Boris Johnson’s shattered reputation. That of course means that it is true. We followed the Big Dog theme in this parody version of doggy magazine “Big Dog World”:

FACT AND FICTION CHECKER

FACT : Jacob Rees-Mogg did suggest that Johnson’s guidelines for lockdown may have been unnecessary as a way of excusing Johnson’s crimes. Tell that to the people grieving for loved ones who they were unable to say farewell to …

FICTION : The Police bill will not allow dogs to savage members of the public (yet). But that’s just about the only thing that they will not be allowed to do. Kill The Bill. Write to your MP today and ask them to vote it down.

FACT : Jolyon Maugham won a case which demonstrated that the crony COVID contracts were illegal. This was barely reported in the hullabaloo of Partygate.

FACT : Liz Truss has hired an image consultant to improve her chances of winning the leadership contest. But you cannot polish a turd …

FACT : Brexit loon Peter Bone has backed Boris Johnson on Channel 4 News. Compelling evidence to suggest that the ERG are about to knife him in order to put an even harder line Brexiteer in power or a lapdog (Truss). Be careful what you wish for.

FACT : Much of the continuing hullabaloo over Partygate has the side benefit of masking problems occurring with Brexit. Specifically Liz Truss’ manoeuvres on Northern Ireland. Read Professor Chris Grey’s insightful analysis of the unfolding situation in Northern Ireland and compare it with the populist ravings of Lord Andrew Adonis on the subject.

FACT : Changing the leader does not change the underlying problem. The ERG are fed up with Johnson but will either pick a lapdog (sic) i.e. Truss or a more hardline Brexiteer. In the Tory party the ERG tail still wags the Brexit dog. As Chris Grey mentions “when Johnson is replaced, his successor will be bound by the same, structural, constraints.” They will also be able to blame Brexit on the Johnson era. This does not mean we are any better off, possibly worse.

Dead Cats

Watch out for a tsunami of dead cats in the coming days, as Johnson attempts to divert attention from his criminal activities. Johnson’s modus operandi is to use distraction as a means to divert attention from important issues. He did it to “get Brexit done” (It’s not done by the way), we are still “world beaters” on COVID infections and deaths. All is done in order to save his dynasty, rather than from what my friend Judith Spencer calls “the spirit of service” which is the duty of a Prime Minister. Here is a short list of some anticipated dead cats. Some may seem frivolous and / or dark, but someone pointed out to me that they thought he may even consider asking for the Queen’s sacrifice to save his skin.

A Chinese Spy is found in Parliament – they are caught by setting traps of Vesta Chow Mein with crispy noodles in Westminster by Priti Patel and Cressida Dick – ongoing.

Wilf is found to have been abducted. Piers Corbyn is seen with a suspicious parcel on the underground. Dilyn leads the search.

Nonce Andrew decides to do a fun run for “Save The Children” around Westminster Palace to raise funds for his prosecution.

Jacob Rees-Mogg is hired as the host of a remake of “Upstairs Downstairs” with Michael Fabricate as “Hudson”.

Nadine Dorries bans Chinese meals in the Parliament canteen.

Mark Francois is arrested for army themed crimes on manoeuvres in Canvey, using pop guns and other childhood militaria. He is suspected of training COVID army volunteers in armed combat with peashooters.

Iain Duncan Smith picks his nose again in Parliament.

Iran threaten to invade Clacton. Nigel Farage is called to form a battalion of the LDV to investigate kebab shops and novelty emporia.

Carrie delivers a surprise baby in what is described in the Daily Express as a virgin birth.

All European washing machines are recalled for failing to meet new Brexit standards on pollution. Army put on standby to wash smalls as the crisis mounts. Michel Barnier summoned to clean up the mess.

Nigel Farage announces that he has become Novak Djokovic’s personal trainer.

I drove through a set of red lights recently. Shortly afterwards, I could not remember if I had committed the crime. I now await a report on whether I broke the law from someone that wasn’t there …. Frankly Boris Johnson’s “sorry, not sorry” statement in Parliament simply won’t wash. It has not convinced his party, or the people. Not one senior Tory stood up to defend his statement yesterday. Liz Truss managed a tweet. Rishi Sunak laid low. Jacob Rees-Mogg went on Newsnight to introduce a dead cat:

We have no need to wait for Sue Grey to report. Boris Johnson admitted his guilt. He should now be arrested and jailed. Simples.

SAY NO TO Britastrophe

I coined the phrase “Britastrophe” a while back to explain the toxic combination of Corona Crisis + Brexit Disaster. Today sees the launch of the song “Britastrophe” by “Mutant Algorithm”. Download the mini album with three tracks and a free ringtone here. Here’s the trailer video:

Please GIFT the song to MP’s – both to Conservative MPs in order to persuade them to pull back from breaking international law and to Opposition MPs on all sides, to persuade them to grow a backbone and suspend Brexit in the wake of a Britastrophe.

I write to you with the gift of “Britastrophe”, a song which explains the toxic combination of Corona Crisis + Brexit Disaster. I ask you to exert your influence to suspend Brexit by voting against the UK Internal Markets Bill, currently passing through Parliament. The bill breaks international and domestic law and represents a new low point in our reputation as a great nation. Of course, your own reputation as an MP and that of your party goes hand in hand with this.

You will be aware that even Theresa May, Lord Howard, Sajid Javid, Norman Lamont, former Attorney General Geoffrey Cox QC and many others have raised serious objections to the bill as well as six former Prime Ministers on all sides of our politics from Sir John Major to Gordon Brown and even David Cameron. It has also gained international condemnation from world leaders across the globe, for its parallels with the 1933 Enabling Act. I need not remind you where that led. Our membership of the EU costs us 37 pence a day for 70+ years of peace and offers us opportunities for our children and country to be world leaders through the membership of the most successful experiment in collaboration on the planet. I write this letter as we learn that Kent is about to have a hard border in order to deliver Brexit chaos.

I ask you to restore trust and decency in politics and pull back from the brink of this Dominic Cummings inspired initiative. I am aware that MPs on all sides find the power grab by Cummings and Johnson extremely unacceptable with extremely worrying implications for democracy in the UK as Britain slides into a banana republic. Is that what you really want on your Wikipedia page as a legacy?
